LAF takes part in #ALSIceBucketChallenge

Lubbock Area Foundation President, Sheryl Cates, accepted the challenge and took part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge this week. The Ice Bucket Challenge has taken social media by storm this month. The challenge is raising awareness of ALS and is raising money for research to cure this horrific disease. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease,” is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.

Sheryl challenged Dan Jackson with KCBD News Channel 11 and Glenn Cochran with Lubbock Area United Way. Glenn had already participated in the challenge so it was up to Dan Jackson to fulfill the challenge duties. Here is the clip where you can see Dan Jackson’s response and his special guest who helped him fulfill the challenge.
