South Plains Animal Welfare Grants
Tuesday, March 4, 2014, the Lubbock Area Foundation awarded $32,000 in grants to seven area organizations whose mission is to care for animals that are lost, abandoned or injured. Included in this funding were grants to to six organizations as a result of allocations from the Ruth Wright Endowment for Animals and the Jimmie Nelson Endowment. The Lynn County Animal Shelter also received a check for funds donated by people in the community through the Baby Grey Emergency Animal Fund that the Lubbock Area Foundation established in response to the tragic fire that destroyed their building in January.
Checks totaling $32,000 were presented to:

Equine Rescue (Horse Rescue) Humane Society of West Texas (Wellness Clinic) Lynn County Animal Services (Baby Grey Fund) Morris Safe House (Vaccines) Post Animal Refuge Center (Vet services, operations) Saving Grace Pit Bull Rescue (The Pit Stop) South Plains Wildlife Rehab Center (Food, supplies, and vet care)
